Raku Firing Workshops
Raku is an exciting Japanese firing technique where you’ll see your ceramic pieces taken red-hot from the kiln and transformed through smoke and fire. As they cool, beautiful crackle patterns, metallic effects, and rich textures appear right in front of you.
This workshop is open to complete beginners and those with some ceramics experience. You’ll be guided step by step in a safe, supportive environment, so you can confidently explore this unique and expressive firing process.
Session Details
Duration: 4.0 hours
Price: £60 per session
Maximum: 6 people
Age requirement: 18+
student to bring up to 5 pre-made bisque pieces to fire (all must fit on a single 30cm kiln shelf) - ensure to use Raku friendly clay
For those who do not have bisque pieces, they have the option to buy bisque pieces from the studio for an additional £10/piece
Bring your own suitable raku glazes or use our studio glazes - ensure to use Raku glazes
